Today we are going to use a different point of view in our writing. Up until this point, we have been writing from the first person point of view (I this, I that). Today we will write from the third person point of view. (He/she this, He/she that).

In today’s photo, you are going to write from the perspective of the man on the rope ladder. Instead of beginning sentences with “I”, you will begin with “He or She”. Remember to incorporate as many senses as possible. Don’t forget to include emotions.

Most importantly, have fun.

Coco Key Water Park Writing Prompt by Raven Shrift

This week’s writing prompt is inspired by our recent trip to Coco Key Indoor Water Park. Since you already have a little experience writing in the first person, I would like you to once again write in the first person… with a small twist:

I would like you to write as though you are the tube or slide rather than the person riding on them. What would you see? smell? feel? hear? taste? (ew!) You can be the tube on the lazy river or in one of the slides.

Have fun with this. I will post mine on my blog when it is finished. Remember, no peeking. I want everyone’s writing to be original, inspired by their own imaginations.

Amusement Park Ride – Story Prompt by Raven Shrift

Write a story about your experience on this ride. You’ll have to first decide what the heck this ride DOES before you can write your experience on the ride :-)

Naturally this will be written in the First Person (from your perspective)
example: I climbed into the car, unsure of what was going to happen to me.

Try to include as many senses as possible as you describe your experience.
(sight, sound, smell, taste, feel)

I want to feel what you feel as I read your story.  Post your stories on your blogs.  I will post my creation on my Raven Shrift blog page so you can see what I came up with.
